Emil Frey Racing starts the new season with DTM and ADAC GT Masters double-header

Safenwil – Switzerland, 22nd April 2024

Emil Frey Racing is ready for the start of the new season. Next weekend, the first round of the DTM and the ADAC GT Masters in Oschersleben will open an eagerly awaited motorsport year. The traditional Swiss racing team will line-up in the DTM with regular drivers Jack Aitken and Thierry Vermeulen. After a year's break, the team is back in the ADAC GT Masters and is entering one Ferrari 296 GT3 with Swiss driver duo Jean-Luc D'Auria and Alain Valente.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the DTM, the high-calibre championship will feature twenty drivers and eleven teams, and more than half of all participants have already achieved victories or podium finishes in the DTM. Despite the high-performance density, Emil Frey Racing is positive about the new season, as the team completed a meticulous testing program in the winter and the hard work already paid-off at the official tests in Hockenheim, when Aitken and Vermeulen set competitive times.

The young drivers made an equally successful debut at the ADAC GT Masters tests at the Hockenheimring, when D'Auria finished the second day of testing as fastest of the day. In this season's "Road to DTM", 32 drivers from nine teams and seven manufacturers are battling it out for the winner's trophy. With Alain Valente, Emil Frey Racing has brought the runner-up from 2023 into the team and will do everything in its power to win the championship this time.

The first double-header weekend with DTM and ADAC GT Masters together takes place from 26th until 28th April at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

Team Quotes Emil Frey Racing
Lorenz Frey-Hilti
, Team Principal
"The entire team is really looking forward to the new season. We had a productive winter period in which we analysed a lot of things from last year and fixed the issues. The official test days looked promising, but in principle you can only say how strong you are and how strong the competition is after the first qualifying session. We have very fond memories of Oschersleben with Jack's third place last year and are optimistic that we can achieve another good result. We are also looking forward to the ADAC GT Masters, in which we will be competing again with two very talented drivers."

Jürg Flach, Technical Director
"The test and preparation phase was intensive and productive, and we were able to gain further important insights for the season. We are certainly optimistic, but talking about a podium is a little premature. Nevertheless, our goal is to start the season successfully and achieve strong results. The tests for the ADAC GT Masters car have also been very positive, but it is difficult to say where we will be. However, we also have championship ambitions here."

Driver Quotes DTM

Jack Aitken (Great Britain) #14
"We had a good race at Oschersleben last year and I'm really looking forward to going there again, as I think we can be very strong. I'm confident and looking forward to another great season together with Thierry and Emil Frey Racing."

Thierry Vermeulen (The Netherlands) #69
"I'm really looking forward to my second season in the DTM and I'm excited to see what the competition looks like and what we can achieve as a team in the championship. I think we've had a very exciting test program so far, with a few minor technical problems, but we've completed all the tasks we set ourselves. I have a positive feeling about the season. Nevertheless, the DTM is at the highest level and I'm not expecting an easy year. But we have prepared as well as possible and I think we should score some points in Oschersleben."

Driver Quotes ADAC GT Masters

Jean-Luc D´Auria (Switzerland) #14
"Oschersleben will be a big challenge for me, as I've never raced on this circuit before. Nevertheless, I see it as my goal to achieve the best possible result for the team. I've liked the track in the simulator so far, there are certainly better ones, but I'm trying to go into the weekend with a clear goal. My goals for myself and the team are clear and we want to win, but we must look at the bigger picture. Nevertheless, I can say with full conviction that Emil Frey Racing, my team-mate and I will give 110% and are already looking forward to some cool fights."

Alain Valente (Switzerland) #14
"I'm really looking forward to the first race in Oschersleben. It will be my debut together with Emil Frey Racing and Jean-Luc. Preparations have been very promising and we will work hard to get the season off to a successful start."
